ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

Description of Duties: 

The Assistant Controller will support the Controller and finance leadership team in overseeing the accounting and financial reporting functions of a growing real estate development company. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, working with third party management companies, and providing timely reporting to management. The Assistant Controller will also assist in project-level accounting and lender reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, general ledger

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Assist with lender compliance and lender reporting responsibilities

Work with third party management companies and monitor cash flow

Assist the Controller with accounting for development projects, including construction draws, capitalization of costs, and loan compliance

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred

2+ years progressive accounting experience, preferably in public accounting and/or real estate development experience

Proficiency with accounting software (Yardi, MRI, Sage Timberline, or similar)

Strong Excel skills

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments and with third parties

PARALEGAL

The legal department of a national commercial and multi-family development company is in search of a self-motivated, detail-oriented and meticulous individual with excellent organizational and communication skills. Duties include but are not limited to review of files, updating and maintaining legal pleadings and related documents, document and report preparation, contract review, facilitating appointments and meetings, and managing calendars.  Must be able to manage multiple assignments, work with team members and prioritize work.  College degree required.  Paralegal experience required.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Docusign, and Adobe software.
