Zimmer Development Co. plans to turn a 17-acre former industrial site into 780 units across three seven-story buildings.
The project, from North Carolina-based Zimmer Development Company, would bring three, seven-story buildings to a 17-acre slice of land wedged between the Scioto Audubon Metro Park and two sets of railroad tracks.
Zimmer Development is set to go before the Columbus City Council Zoning Committee to rezone about 16.5 acres located on the north side of West Whittier Street and west of South Front Street.
North Carolina-based Zimmer Development Co. plans to build three, seven-story buildings at 142 W. Whittier St., near Scioto Audubon Metro Park. The land is owned by CSX Transportation Inc.
The project’s developer, Zimmer Development Company, said the project will bring a lot of good to the community, but Metro Parks is concerned about how it’ll affect the park.
