Luxury Burlington Apartment Community Closes In On Opening Second Phase

The first phase of a new luxury Triad apartment is completely occupied and the second phase is expected to open in spring 2021.

Greensboro-based Evolve Construction has teamed with developer Zimmer Development Co. of Wilmington at 198 Milltown in Burlington, just north of Interstate 40/85 on the west side of University Drive. The apartments are in a high-growth area, near Alamance Crossing and only a few minutes from Elon University.

Buildings in the second phase of the 288-unit community will open one at a time, according to Zimmer’s Emily Moree. Prices start at $1,150 for one bedroom, $1,250 for two bedrooms and $1,450 for three bedrooms. Construction on the community began in April 2019.

The last building in the 192-unit first phase opened early this month.

Evolve and Zimmer have worked together on other projects in Chapel Hill; Asheville; Knoxville, Tennessee; and Fort Mill, South Carolina.

Amenities in the units include washers and dryers, granite counters, electronic deadbolts and private patios or balconies. The community has a clubhouse, conference room, cyber cafe, fitness room, yoga room, pet play and wash areas, and a swimming pool.

According to Alamance County records, Evolve recently received permits for four new residential buildings at 198 Milltown, estimating the cost at $1.5 million per 12-unit building.

Other recent upscale multifamily editions in west Burlington have included 183-unit Burlington St. Marks, 120 units at Buckhill Village, and 108 units, tentatively known as “The Reserve…”, near Cone Health Alamance Regional Medical Center.
